After breakfast you will start your journey to Materuni village for small hiking to the base of the Materuni waterfalls, and learn how to make coffee locally using old technique.

Materuni waterfalls stands 150m high and nestled in the lush green forests on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This day trip is an ideal gateway for those strapped with time. With just 30 minutes’ drive from Moshi or 2hrs from Arusha, you will enter this village and get standing ovation from tropical rainforest, coffee, banana trees and avocado trees. When the sky is clear you will have a great view of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen.
The hike to the base of the waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. This village is one of the few villages in Northern Tanzania sitting at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, which is blessed with full of the beauty worth much visiting for holiday, week-end outing or vacation . while in the village, scenic view of Moshi is wonderful, this green village with fresh air from green vegetations welcome visitor to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people.

Materuni Waterfalls
Next you’ll hike the short but challenging route to the Materuni Falls and you can stand under the waters as they cascade into a tranquillity pool that’s safe for bathing. And you’ll want to jump straight in – after getting sweaty (ok, glowing!) from your hike, there’s nothing more soothing than floating in the cool waters. Enjoy your packed lunch before or after your swim – there are no rules!
