The Great Migration Timetable
January – March

Calving season unfolds across the lush southern Serengeti. Over 500,000 newborn wildebeest are delivered, attracting predators and offering thrilling game viewing.

April – June

As the rains give way to golden grasslands, the herds begin their movement northwest, creating picturesque scenes across the Western Corridor.

July – September

This is the most dramatic period, as the herds cross the crocodile-infested Mara River. Ideal for witnessing high-stakes survival and iconic wildlife moments.

October – December

The herds make their journey south once more, passing through the central and eastern Serengeti in a quieter, more exclusive safari window.

Tarangire National Park - Land of Giants Day 2

Tarangire National Park - Land of Giants

Tarangire

Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic ancient baobab trees, some of which have stood tall for centuries. These giant trees aren’t just majestic — during the dry season, elephants use their tusks and trunks to extract water from their trunks, a survival skill passed through generations.

The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline, is the only permanent water source during the dry months. As a result, Tarangire becomes a wildlife magnet, drawing in huge gatherings of up to 250 elephants, along with buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and a host of predators.

It’s one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems — wild, authentic, and teeming with life.

Lake Manyara National Park – A Compact Gem of Biodiversity Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park – A Compact Gem of Biodiversity

Manyara

Nestled between Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park stretches along the dramatic 400-meter-deep Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though small in size, the park is incredibly rich in diversity.

Covering nearly 75% of the park, the shimmering soda lake draws flocks of flamingos and other waterbirds. Venture deeper and you’ll pass through lush rainforests alive with monkeys and exotic birds, then into woodlands where elephants roam freely.

Lake Manyara offers a little bit of everything — making it the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s varied landscapes and wildlife.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area – A Natural Wonder of Africa

Ngorongoro

Step into the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formed over two million years ago from the collapse of a massive volcano, the crater’s fertile floor now cradles a thriving ecosystem unlike any other.

Home to the highest density of wildlife in Africa, the crater offers incredible game viewing year-round. As you descend into this vast natural amphitheater, prepare to be surrounded by lions, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino — all set against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery.

With its dramatic landscapes and unmatched wildlife encounters, Ngorongoro is a place that truly defies description — you simply have to see it to believe it.
