The Great Migration Timetable
January – March

Calving season unfolds across the lush southern Serengeti. Over 500,000 newborn wildebeest are delivered, attracting predators and offering thrilling game viewing.

April – June

As the rains give way to golden grasslands, the herds begin their movement northwest, creating picturesque scenes across the Western Corridor.

July – September

This is the most dramatic period, as the herds cross the crocodile-infested Mara River. Ideal for witnessing high-stakes survival and iconic wildlife moments.

October – December

The herds make their journey south once more, passing through the central and eastern Serengeti in a quieter, more exclusive safari window.

Tarangire National Park Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire

Tarangire National Park is famous for its vast herds of elephants and its ancient, towering baobab trees, some of which are centuries old. During the dry season, these majestic trees become a vital water source — elephants use their tusks and trunks to extract moisture stored within.

The Tarangire River, the park’s only permanent water source in the dry months, draws an incredible concentration of wildlife. It's not uncommon to witness elephant gatherings of over 250 individuals, alongside zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and more — making Tarangire a spectacular and often overlooked gem of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

Serengeti

Few places on Earth capture the spirit of safari like the Serengeti — the legendary home of the Great Migration. As millions of wildebeest and zebras thunder across the plains, predators follow closely behind, creating one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles in the world.

This vast ecosystem is a haven for big cats and carnivores: over 4,000 lions, 225 cheetahs, 1,000 leopards, 3,500 hyenas, and roaming packs of wild dogs call the Serengeti home. And that’s just the beginning — your expert guide will help you track a stunning array of wildlife, from giraffes and elephants to secretive servals and vibrant birdlife.

Kogatende

(Prime chance to witness the iconic Mara River crossing)

Picture yourself journeying across the sweeping grasslands of the Northern Serengeti, when suddenly, the air fills with the sound of grunting wildebeest and braying zebras. Before you lies the Mara River, teeming with lurking crocodiles — and the herds are preparing to cross.

This is the heart-stopping Mara River crossing, the most intense moment of the Great Migration, taking place between July and October. It's a raw, unforgettable spectacle of survival — as the animals brave the river, predators await on both sides, from stealthy crocodiles to watchful lions and cheetahs, ready to strike.

Nature doesn’t get more real — or more breathtaking — than this.

Ngorongoro

Welcome to the Ngorongoro Crater — one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a true masterpiece of nature. Formed over two million years ago by a colossal volcanic eruption, the crater’s fertile floor now supports one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the continent.

As you descend into this ancient caldera, you’re instantly surrounded by a breathtaking scene: lions, zebras, buffalo, elephants, and even the rare black rhino roam freely across the grasslands. With its rich ecosystem and panoramic views in every direction, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of those places where every glance feels like a postcard.

This is not just a safari — it’s an encounter with one of Earth’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
