Planning & booking

Are your safaris private and tailor-made?

Most journeys can be arranged privately and shaped around your dates, interests, preferred pace, accommodation and group size. Published itineraries are useful starting points, but they do not have to be followed as a fixed formula. Confirmed group departures are clearly identified separately.

How far ahead should I book?

Six to twelve months ahead is helpful for popular dry-season, festive-season and migration travel—especially when specific lodges, family rooms or fly-in arrangements matter. Shorter-notice trips may still be possible, but choices depend on live availability.

What affects the final price?

Season, group size, room arrangement, accommodation level, route, park fees, internal flights and current availability all affect cost. Website prices are starting estimates where shown. Your written proposal confirms the exact inclusions and price basis before you commit.

Does sending an enquiry confirm or charge a booking?

No. An enquiry or group-join request asks the team to check availability and prepare the appropriate proposal. A booking is confirmed only after you accept the written arrangements and complete the stated payment step. No card details are collected through the enquiry form.

What should I include in my first message?

Share your approximate dates, number of adults and children, desired trip length, interests, preferred comfort level and any important mobility, dietary or celebration details. If you are unsure, start with your available dates—the team can help shape the rest.

The safari experience

What is the best time for a Tanzania safari?

June to October is the classic dry-season window. January to March is especially rewarding for southern Serengeti calving travel, while greener periods can bring dramatic landscapes, fewer vehicles and good value. The best month depends on the wildlife, atmosphere and pace you value most. See the season-by-season guide.

Can you guarantee wildlife or a Mara River crossing?

No. Guides plan around typical seasonal patterns, current reports and local knowledge, but rainfall, grazing and animal behavior remain natural and unpredictable. No responsible operator can guarantee a particular sighting or river crossing.

Will we have a private safari vehicle?

Private itineraries normally use a private vehicle and guide for the safari portion, subject to the confirmed proposal. Group departures share the vehicle with the confirmed group. Airport transfers, lodge activities and boat excursions may follow different arrangements, which will be stated clearly.

Can children join, and how do you plan family safaris?

Yes. Family safaris can use shorter driving days, suitable rooms, flexible meal timing and age-appropriate activities. Some camps, walking safaris and other experiences have minimum-age rules, so children’s ages should be shared at the beginning.

Trekking & Zanzibar

Which Kilimanjaro route should I choose?

The right route depends on your available days, fitness, previous altitude experience, preferred scenery, sleeping style and desired pace. More gradual itineraries generally allow better acclimatization than rushed ascents. Compare the guided trekking routes and discuss your experience honestly with the team.

Is reaching the summit guaranteed?

No. Fitness, altitude response, weather, route pacing and health all matter. Professional guiding, appropriate acclimatization, a slow pace and honest symptom reporting improve decision-making, but safety must take priority over the summit.

Can I combine a safari, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar?

Yes. The three can be connected with private road transfers and domestic flights. The itinerary should include realistic arrival, briefing and recovery time so the mountain is not forced into an exhausting schedule. Zanzibar often works well as the final, slower chapter.

Are Zanzibar excursions private, and where is pickup?

Experiences are generally arranged privately unless a shared option is specifically requested and confirmed. Pickup depends on your hotel, coast and activity. The final plan states the meeting point, transfer arrangement and timing before travel. Explore the Zanzibar collection.

Travel essentials

How should I check visa and entry requirements?

Requirements vary by passport and may change. Check the official Tanzania Immigration website and relevant embassy guidance before departure, including passport validity and any transit-country rules. Use our visa guide as a planning overview, not a replacement for official advice.

Do I need travel insurance?

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for trekking. Cover should match your activities, route altitude, medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation, delays and personal circumstances. Confirm the policy wording directly with the insurer.

What vaccinations or medicines do I need?

Health recommendations depend on your medical history, itinerary and countries visited before Tanzania. Consult an appropriate travel-health professional well before departure and check current official entry rules. The safari team cannot replace individualized medical advice.

Can dietary, medical or mobility needs be accommodated?

Many dietary needs can be arranged with advance notice. Medical and mobility requirements should be discussed early because vehicles, light aircraft, lodges, boats, trails and remote locations differ in accessibility. The team will explain what is realistically possible before confirmation.

What should I pack?

Pack light, breathable layers, a warmer layer for early mornings, sun protection, comfortable closed shoes, personal medication and soft-sided luggage where small aircraft are involved. Mountain routes require a separate route-specific equipment list that should be tested before travel.

When plans move

Changes & support

What happens if I need to change or cancel?

The written booking terms supplied with your proposal govern changes, cancellations and refunds. Outcomes depend on timing and the policies of parks, lodges, airlines and other suppliers. Contact the team as early as possible so available options can be checked.

What support is available while I am in Tanzania?

You receive local contact details for use during the journey. Your guide and the Arusha team coordinate practical arrangements and help respond to changes. In a genuine medical emergency, notify the guide or facility team immediately and follow the appropriate emergency provider’s instructions.

How are responsible travel and community visits handled?

Local leadership, consent, dignity and appropriate behavior should guide every visit. Sensitive identities and habitats are protected, and photography should never be assumed. Read more about the community and conservation approach.

How quickly will the team respond to my enquiry?

Enquiries are reviewed by the local team rather than answered with an automatic itinerary. Response time can vary with office hours and the availability checks your request requires. If your travel date is close, include that clearly and use the listed WhatsApp number for a direct follow-up.
